Think about it… don’t you feel better and more able to do something about a problem when/if you share it with a friend or group of friends who have had or have the same problem? Working with a group can increase your odds of solving a problem, be it marriage issues, stress or losing weight and getting fit!
According to longtime obesity researcher Thomas Wadden, PhD, a psychology professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and director of the university’s Weight and Eating Disorders Program, “Groups really provide patients a sense of universality–that they have a problem that other people share. There is a sense of group support. People provide suggestions for each other.”
